Choosing a cleaning company – What to consider

When it comes to choosing a cleaning service for your business, there are many factors to consider other than price to ensure your value for money. Maintaining a clean and tidy environment for your office area is essential for both the sanitation of your working space and the success of your business. Most companies hire professional cleaning services to keep offices looking presentable rather than a full time cleaner as the work load for a large space is easier to handle with a team than a sole individual. Cleaning services work after hours to avoid any disruptions and attend to all areas of your office. There are many cleaning companies in large cities today, so it is important to choose one that will work for you and your business. Though it is always nice to find cheap options to save money, when it comes to office cleaning, the company with the lowest cost might not be the best option.

Cost and Services.

It is always helpful to get companies in your area to visit your office and obtain an initial quote for the job. Whilst they are checking out the space, it is always important to ask for a list of services that they provide when cleaning large offices. Some companies don’t always provide carpet cleaning or mopping, so it is recommended that you check with the company to ensure they cover all the services you require.

Experience.

It is helpful when choosing between companies to know the experience and training that each staff member has completed. Ask questions about their time in the industry and how they were trained in the business. It is always better to feel comfortable and protected knowing that the company you choose is well experienced and knowledgeable in all areas of their service.

Equipment.

One factor that may sway your decision on a company is the type of products they use for the job. Green cleaning and environmentally friendly products are sure to make your office space healthier for all workers, and they are often used today by many cleaning services. Don’t be afraid to ask about the cleaning products each company use as it could provide a safer work space, whilst also meeting any environmental sustainability goals.

Insurance.

It is crucial to be sure that all commercial cleaning companies are fully insured for the safety and security of your business and those within it. Always ask to see proof of insurance so that you are not liable for any accidents during their cleaning service.

Availability.

Ask each company about set times in their schedule that will work with that of your business. You should set a regular date and time for the company to clean your space that works best for you, and thus avoiding any unnecessary disruptions. Also check their policies on emergency requests and incidents that may prevent them from providing their service.

References.

Always request a list of references who can vouch for the quality and effectiveness of their services. Be sure to take the time to contact each referee to gain their thoughts on the company, this will provide some peace of mind that you are making the right decision on the cleaning service.
